The SWAN Impact Family
The SWAN family has the mission of bringing as much capital as possible to support startups who are fervently working to make the world a better place. The family consists of three independent organizations with overlapping leadership, and provides two options for supporting impact startup companies.
About the SWAN Impact Network
The SWAN Impact Network originally operated under the name of The Southwest Angel Network, and is a network of individual angel investors. The Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with an educational mission. We educate impact entrepreneurs on fund raising, and we educate angels on how to evaluate impact investment opportunities.
Mission: The angels at the SWAN Impact Network are bound together by a passion for making the world a better place by supporting dynamic startups that are striving to address serious challenges that our society faces. SWAN focuses on companies who expect to deliver measurable social or environmental impact, and who also have solid plans for financial success. Examples of impact include improving education and healthcare outcomes, increasing financial empowerment, protecting the environment, and working to improve the lives of groups of people who face unique challenges.
Secondary Mission: SWAN recognizes that women and people of color startup founders have been under-funded by the startup investment community. Half of our investments have gone to these under-represented founders. And SWAN’s leadership and membership reflects the diversity of the community.
National Footprint: A rapidly growing and nationally prominent impact angel network, SWAN has chapters in Austin, Dallas and Houston, and includes angels from across the US. And we invest in amazing companies from across the US.
More Information: You can download and read The SWAN Impact Network Story which discusses our history, our community involvement and our alliances.
About the SWAN Impact Philanthropic Fund
The SWAN Impact Philanthropic Fund allows both accredited and non-accredited investors to make charitable donations which are then used to invest in impact startup companies.
