SWAN uses a three-step process to select three companies to present at a pitch event.

All members are invited to help with Down Selection Steps One and Two.

 

Review companies that match your interests and/or expertise.

                               

Down Selection Step One

In this one-week step, members use Dealum to review and provide feedback on some or all of the~25 companies.
The result is that six companies are selected for  Down Select Two.
The steps are:

  1. In Dealum, go to the “Down-select 1” funnel step. How to use Dealum
  2. Look at those applications that match your interests and/or expertise.  You don’t need to review all companies in this funnel step.
  3. In Dealum, for the companies you reviewed, add a short COMMENT and VOTE!
  4. Participate in Friday’s zoom decision call where we discuss everyone’s observations about the companies and we collectively select six companies for Down Select Step Two.

Down Selection Step Two

In this one-week step, members hear the companies pitch and select three companies for our quarterly pitch event.
The six companies can be found in the Dealum “Down-select 2” funnel stage.
The DS-2 steps are:

  1. Accept calendar invites for zoom calls with those companies that match your interests and/or expertise. You don’t need to review all companies in this funnel step.
  2. Participate in the company zoom calls. The CEOs pitch and you may ask questions of the CEO.
  3. For the companies that you heard pitch, in Dealum add a short COMMENT and VOTE!
  4. Participate in Friday’s zoom decision call where we discuss everyone’s observations about the companies and collectively select three companies to pitch at our quarterly pitch event.
