Helen Xun is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Integrated Resident at BIDMC/Harvard Medical School. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine with the Johns Hopkins Young Investigator award. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Gonzaga University, where she was the class president, and graduated with Alpha Sigma Nu. Her research focuses on additive manufacturing for rapid surgical device prototyping, with the goal of improving patient care and tackling provider burnout. Her work has been featured on CNN, WSJ, and Reuters. She is passionate about promoting women in STEM, and has led several research studies to understand cumulative career disadvantages for women. Her work on gender biases in professional physician attire published in JAMA Network Open was featured in US News and Drugs.com.
